Feinberg Listservs 101There are four lists that one should be on while at Feinberg. They are:
- medall-announce(AT)listserv.it.northwestern.edu: This one is primarily used by administrators to send announcements to the entire student body, AS WELL AS the administration.
- med(class)-announce(AT)listserv.it.northwestern.edu (i.e. med11_ANNOUNCE, etc.): Much like medall_announce, this listserv is used by administrators to send announcements to students.
- medall-student(AT)googlegroups.com: This one includes all students at FSOM, no administrators. Students can use this list to send announcements to the entire student body.
- med(class)-student(AT)googlegroups.com: This listserv includes all students in a specific class, no administrators. Students can use this list to send announcements to their whole class.
If you are not on your particular class listserv or are not receiving emails from one of the four lists, email b-henschen(AT)northwestern.edu.
Here are instructions on how to send an email to various listservs: ***You may only send emails to the listserv using your Northwestern email address - groups won't allow any other email addresses, and your email will not be sent.*** To send an announcement or post to your class only: send your email to med(class)-student(AT)googlegroups.com, inserting your class year (i.e. med10-student(AT)googlegroups.com) using your Northwestern email address. To send an announcement to another class: First, email b-henschen(AT)northwestern.edu and ask for permission to send your email. You will then be added to the other class's group (although you won't receive emails from that group). Once you are added, send your email to that particular class (med(class)-student(AT)googlegroups.com). To send an email to the entire student body: Send your email to medall-student(AT)googlegroups.com using your Northwestern email. ***A word about protocol: Please use these lists with discretion. Emails you send to this listserv will be received by many people, so before sending a message, think about whether it is something that your peers would find valuable and informative. The bottom line is: think before you send. If you are not receiving emails from medall-announce or your specific class listservs, you can find information on how to subsribe on this page.
